| Hello dear readers. Spring has spring here in the land of eternal sunshine. You know what that means, several months of baseball metaphors from your truly. It also means the days get longer, the skirts get shorter and for pervs like us, things just keep getting better.
This seems to be the month to talk about huge porn comebacks. The two biggest names returning to X are two of the biggest names ever, Marilyn Chambers and Ginger Lynn. Last year, the Free Speech Coalition named the twenty five top porn stars of all time, and these two women took the top spots on that list. This year, both will make much talked about returns to the blue screen.
Marilyn, whose film ‘Still Insatiable’ is due out from VCA next month, still looks pretty good, especially for a woman who hasn’t been in a porn film since before I was old enough to watch smut. The Ginger comeback is still in the negotiation phases, but according to the scuttle-butt, she is working out a 4 to 6 film deal with VCA and should be filming before summer.
I got a chance to talk with Ginger about a year ago and she looks plenty hot. Anyone else wonder just how pissed Vivid is at the prospect of losing their first great contract girl to VCA?
Though not quite as big a star as Marilyn or Ginger, another one of my personal favorites has made a triumphant return to porn.
Laurel Canyon, who lit up the screen in the late 80’s and early 90’s with a wicked combination of girl next door cuteness and balls to the wall sexual heat, is back, and badder than ever.
Laurel and I shared a nice lunch before doing an interview while strolling on the beach last month. She looks fantastic and is jumping back into porn with both feet.
When I wasn’t fighting the urge to stare and drool, I pleasantly discovered that Laurel is friendly, witty one of the nicest people I have ever met. Look for more in our interview, she had lots to say. Laurel has already shot a few scenes, including one with Rodney Moore and three for Dave Cummings. The first of these pairings will in Dave’s new series ‘Sex Fun’ due out at the end of this month. We can’t wait to see it.
During a recent interview, Tina Tyler talked about how much she enjoyed playing the Devil in the upcoming ‘Devil in Ms. Jones 6’. Well, the VCA film is due out this month, so we can all see the role that so thrilled Ms. Tyler.
Taking their lead from Shane and Tina Tyler, two more adult starlets have moved behind the camera. Jill Kelly and Solviegh have both begun their own series of gonzo porn. The first release from Solveigh, titled “Solveigh’s Way” is on shelves now and stars a number of her hot and sexy friends as well a porn legend Nina Hartley. Jill’s series, distributed by Astral Ocean, is called Perfect Pink is also new in video stores.
Charlie and Melanie Stone are along for the ride, along with beautiful newcomers Bonita Saint and Deven. The second title “Perfect Pink- Purrfection” is due out at the end of April. No word yet on whether Jill will be inviting her new pal Bruce Willis in on the series any time soon.
Odyssey Group Video pulled off a major coup this month, when they added Rodney Moore to their stable. Joining David Christopher, Shane and Alex Sanders, Rodney also has his old partner, Wolf back, for the “Return of the Cum Brothers” due out soon. They will also launch Rodney’s new series “I Swallow.” No word yet on how Rodney will deal with the OGV condom policy.
After a successful stint with Elegant Angel, Sean Michaels is striking out on his own. Sean Michales Productions has begun releasing some promising titles.
After a stint directing a mainstream film in France, Francious Clousot is back behind the camera, directing high quality smut. His latest effort, “Pure Sex” stars Rebecca Lord and promises a new format from the accomplished director.
The Wicked contract players have been racking up the frequent flyer miles lately. Missy, Stephanie Swift, Mickey G. and Brad Armstrong made an appearance last month at Hustler Hollywood. Hundreds of fans lined up for autographs and photos with the beautiful stars. And if anyone needed copies, former SNL’er Rob Schneider was spotted at the event.
Also on the road, were Serenity and Jonathan Morgan who stopped by Cal State Long Beach to speak on “Sex in the 90;s” If Serenity were lecturing, I might still be going to school. All we ever got was Ron Jeremy.
Speaking of the Hedgehog, did anyone else catch Ron’s cameo in “Studio 54”? I wonder if Ronny got to meet Neve Campbell?
Beautiful blonde Linda Thoren was in LA for a while making movies for a number of companies. I sat down with Linda for an interview. One of the projects she worked on while in the States is the next film from award winning director Nic Cramer. She is also said to be close to signing a deal with Sin City, which means we should be seeing a lot more of this incredible performer.
Mike South was also shooting away from home recently. With SB2000 due out any day, Mike hit the road down to Texas to shoot some new talent. Do they have Belles in Texas?
I had a nice long chat with Van Damage this past week. Since parting ways with Extreme Associates, Van has been keeping busy working on a web site. No word yet where the Condom Crusader will end up, but he did say he turned down the Vivid contract.
“I like porn, Rog, that’s not what they do there.” He told me. Tiffany Mynx has been on the road since the separation from their former company, and is considering some contract options.
Word is Extreme has hired a whole bunch of new talent. The only name I have at this point is director/stud Jon Dough. The one time Vivid Boy should be allowed to get back to some of the stuff that made him an award winning performer. Hey, whatever happened to the Ashlyn Gere comeback movie “Rubber?”
The current issue of Genesis magazine has their list of the hottest 100 porn stars. More on that next month, but just glancing over the list, it’s hard to miss a couple of things. First, the Wicked Girls did very well. Jenna Jameson topped the list, Serenity came in at number four, Missy at number seven and Stephanie Swift at number fourteen.
Of course, at least twelve of the stars on their list are retired, including number three, Asia Carrera, and Kaitlyn Ashley, who retired nearly eighteen months ago.
